Swimming quality

Hi, wondering if Lake Erie is weedy and how many feet deep the visibility is from the surface? Is the bottom sandy/mucky/rocky? Many thanks!

It's been a few years since we swam on one of the Lake Erie beaches but when we were there, it was weedy, the visibility from the surface to the bottom was limited, and the bottom was sandy and mucky. It's pretty much typical lake swimming.

Yes, it is certainly not a pristine white sand beach! A lot of people do enjoy it though.

The lake is quite clear so far this year. I just went swimming at the Mill Road beaches. It was very nice. Bottom was soft sand and water gets about shoulder level. Check is out!
