If you are visiting between June 30 - July 8, you might want to check out the Kutztown Folk Festival.

You can check out this website for other festivals/craft fairs in PA.

The Green Dragon in Ephrata is one of the largest farmer's markets in the area. They have a wide range of vendors and are only open on Fridays.

You might want to check this website http://www.padutchcountry.com/index.asp In Lancaster County there are several towns worth visiting: Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, & Lititz to name a few. You will find info on all of these and more on this website.

It does sound as if Lancaster county would fill the bill; good advice above from Dee1Dee. Historic Central Market in downtown Lancaster is open Saturdays.

On the other hand, if it's hot and you just want to relax in the woods by a lake, Mt. Gretna is very convenient to Hershey and a unique experience.

It's at least worth a visit on your way to the Lancaster area (you're not going to see much if you take the suggested 743S to 283E route).

I agree with Daddio. I would head into Lancaster, you can easily fill up the day.
