Easter is March 31 in 2013, so Hersheypark will only be open for Springtime in the Park on March 29-31, April 6-7, and 13-14, 2013. A list of the rides that are open can be found in the link below. You can take a look at them and see what would be interested to you. There will also be entertainment in the park, that list is not yet posted on the website. After checking that information, you may be able to make a decision.

Also, there are plenty of other things to do in Hershey aside from the park. Chocolate World, The Hershey Story (museum), the Hershey Trolleyworks tour, The Antique Auto Museum, Tanger Outlets, and Hershey Gardens (open on 3/31/13) are a few other attractions that might be of interest.

I highly recommend a Spring time trip to Hershey Gardens. The Hershey Hotel is an amazing attraction in itself with fine dining and amazing property.

Hershey is beautiful and it is fun. It is also very close (1 hour or so) to the Lehigh Valley, which is also so pretty and I am sure you will love it. There is two towns very close one from each other that you can tour in 1 day: Bethlehem and Allentown. In Allentown you can visit The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley. They are always bringing new and classic artist for exhibits. Bethlehem is more for outdoors but you can enjoy the Sands Casino if that is something you would like to do. The actual Casino was built in the old steel factory. It is impressive. Actually, all the steel used to build New York was brought from this factory at Bethlehem. These two towns are full of activities every day so I am sure you will have a great time.

Hershey is also not far from Pennsylvania Dutch country and the Amish in Lancaster County.

Here's a link to what you can see there. Just be aware that on Sunday, Amish businesses will be closed.

Have you been to the Pennsylvania tourism website to gain an idea of what PA has to offer? It's a great place to start. http://www.visitpa.com

I think you would enjoy Hershey but in early March, there are not quite as many places to visit. Chocolate World, The Hershey Story, Antique Auto Museum, and the Trolley Tour are all things you could easily do in 2 days time. Perhaps you'd enjoy the spa at the Hershey Hotel as well.

Easy trips from this centrally located destination include Gettysburg - the location of one of the American Civil War's most important battles, and PA Dutch Country in Lancaster Co., home to tourism related to the Amish lifestyle. Harrisburg has the State Museum of Art as well as tours of the State Capital (not sure if those need to be scheduled in advance). Lancaster City has a nice downtown art district and good restaurants.

Enjoy your trip!
