hershey chocolate factory

planning to visit, me and my two boys ages 10 and 14 on the 26 august this year.

will probably arrive sometime in the afternoon and thinking about booking the 4d, trolley ride, and make your own chocolate package.

couple of questions,

what ages do they consider a child? Will we need to pre book or can we sort on the day? is it worth doing the trolley ride given there is a free tour ride?

thanks in advance

First of all, Chocolate World is not a factory. Just clarifying so you are not disappointed. I would not book ahead of time. If you can arrive fairly early in the morning, you should do fine. Especially since many are heading back to school that week, so crowds shouldn't be too bad. The free "Factory" tour is a fun and silly ride that explains chocolate making. The trolley tour is through the town of Hershey to learn about Milton Hershey, the town he built and his philanthropic work. So, they are very different and the trolley tour is definitely worth it. Are you not planning on visiting the parks? Your boys are perfect age, and Chocolate World is located right outside the entrance.

Definitely do the Hershey Trolley Works tour. It will give you an overview of Hershey and Milton Hershey. You might also enjoy The Hershey Story, a museum in downtown Hershey that chronicles the history of Milton Hershey and chocolate making. There are special activities for children, like the Apprentice Program and Chocolate Lab.
