Lizard village advice please

Hello. My partner and I plus our dog will be staying in Lizard village this weekend and we'd love some advice on the best places to eat and drink within walking distance

Where would you recommend for the following. .

A light lunch ie sandwich baguettes?

A special evening meal?

A hearty traditional Sunday pub roast?

All local knowledge and tips will be gratefully received

Indication of prices too please!

Also it'd be great to know if there's any events or entertainment on in the village this next 7 days

Many thanks

Hi There

There is a lovely pub on The Lizard called The Witch Ball - http://www.witchball.co.uk/ which may well help you out with quite a few of your dining options. I haven't been to The Lizard for quite some time so I'm afraid that is the limit of my knowledge.

This website may help, if you haven't seen it already:- www.visitlizardcornwall.co.uk/index.asp

I'm not aware of any local events but, if anything is going on, I am sure you will find some information when you get there.

The Lizard is a lovely village and a walk around the coast there is a must. I love walking down to The Lighthouse and the lifeboat station. A tour around the lighthouse is a must if it is open for tours this weekend.

Enjoy yourself.

Not exactly a "light lunch" but I'll just mention that the famous Ann's Pasty Shop is there...

(N.B. Not open Sundays when out of season)

Unless you want to take your pasty with you, it's a good idea to book your pasty before you set out for your walk. It will be ready for you on your return.

Thanks for all the information.

Seems like there are 4 main eateries

Housel Bay hotel

Coast Bistro

Top House Inn

The Witch Ball

I would like to choose one for a light lunch

One for a birthday meal

And one for a proper Sunday roast

I do like value for money however

Thanks for all the help. This is what I found . .

For a light lunch

the 3 places in the village are fine. ie coast. The top house. The witch ball

For more of an upmarket lunch then try housel bay.

For a dinner

Coast bistro is most romantic then the Top House would be next.

the witch ball is the most traditional pub .

For Sunday roast .

The order reverses The Witch ball offers a generous carvery for £10

The top house is same price but arrives with the vegetables pre plated

Coast is £11

Hope that this helps give you an idea for where to go. . Especially if you have only got a short stay in the area.

Obviously for quick snacks and food on the go then the main TripAdvisor site gives adequate information
