Green Patch Cmaping Booderee National Park

Hi, We are off to Booderee National park camping soon. Can anyone provide us with this info please.

How far is it to the nearest supermarket & take away (ie: IGA & Fish Shop) from Green Patch

What are the best things to do with kids (ages 12 & 10) while we are there.

What do do if it's wet weather.

What other beaches & towns should we visit while we are there.

And any other info you think we should know.

Thanks

J

i suspect the nearest super market is at vincentia.

there is a cafe and general store at hyams beach.

dont think there is anything at jervis bay village but could be wrong.

best things for kids to do is swim, fish, walk and explore.

wet weather? cut your wrists! ;-) but huskisson and vincentia have small diversions. there is a movie theatre at husky and an RSL. st georges basin sports club is at sanctuary point. there is a fleet air arm museum at nowra.

other places to visit? the south side of the south headland eg caves beach. both sides of the north head eg. currarong

there are wineries on the nowra-shoalhaven heads-berry loop. the latter town fills in an hour or so. sussex inlet is another small beach side town.

nothing much at nowra, the region's centre.

a day trip west would be from nowra thru kangaroo valley and up to mittagong/bowral. other beach places worth exploring are to the south eg. bendalong/manyana, lake conjola, ulladulla/milton.

to the north, gerringong/kiama.

just to let u know that traffic in the area over the holidays is pretty bad. the main route, the princes hwy is always busy esp on weekends (changeover days) and there are major roadworks going on around nowra and gerringong.

Thanks so much for all the information. If you can help me with one other thing that would be great. We are driving up from Melbourne & as it's at least 9 hours driving we are thinking of driving to around Yass & stopping for the night & then arrving at Green Patch at a a reasonable hour giving up time to set up the camper trailer.

So can you suggest the best camping place to stop for the night around Yass (give or take 40 minutes ) .

Thanks

J

sorry not into camping but i think yass has a few established camping areas.

cant think of anywhere closer to the coast (ie. within 40 mins of yass) that does.

if u want to avoid canberra on the trip, turn off at murrumbateman and follow the signs to bungendore. the road is reasonable. u may need to follow a map however.

from there head down the kings hwy to batemans bay and then north to jervis bay.

dont be tempted to use the nerriga road from braidwood. it looks like a short cut to jervis bay but the condition of the road doesn't make it that.
