Short stay in Kiama

I need to find nice accommodation for 3 couples, in Kiama between 7th to 10th Jan 2011 for a friends wedding, so ideally good links to any public transport would be good! Any suggestions are appreciated.

thank you

You could have a look at this site too - http://www.kiama.com.au/pages/welcome/

As lien says, January is a peak holiday time so you need to book soon.

If you can't find any accom, you could also try the tourist bureau in Kiama for some suggestions / help - www.southcoast.com.au/0gen/03tinf.htm#ILTC

As someone who spends part of the year living in Kiama, I can only second lien's recommendation of the Sebel as the best place to stay. It's a fairly new property (3 or 4 years old) in the centre of town, the new hotel building forming part of a sympathetic re-use of the Victorian era school (I attended Infants School there!), 5 minutes' walk from the railway station and close to the harbour, lighthouse, blowhole, etc. There are several motels in town that would offer nothing near the quality of the Sebel but would still be worth looking at.

As both lien and doug say, you will be arriving in the peak of the summer holiday season and Kiama tends to be booked out well in advance.

Safe travels and enjoy your stay in Kiama!

If you have not already booked accomodation, I absolutely reccomend the Sebel. We returned home today from a 2 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed the accomodations and the faciliies.

Less than a five minute walk to town, we left the car in the carpark. Across the street from the harbour with great views we also enjoyed cocktails in the bar with two restaurants to choose from onsite.

The Sebel is a nice place BUT expensive, and each couple would need a room.

Try short rent on a house. The Visitor Centre could help out as would the numerous agents. As for public transport, forget it, virtually non-existant in Kiama. Take a Taxi or walk.

Wombat, most house or apartment rentals in Kiama in January would require a 7 night minimum stay. babyjedi is planning to stay only 3 or 4 nights.
