Kiama for the first time

We only have 5 days and most of that will be spent on the beach. Which beach is the best - like the waves but not too strong.

Will visit the rock pools, blow hole - what else is a must?

As for eating - we love all food - what restaurants would you suggest?

Maybe we might get some energy to do a walk - any suggestions?

Thank you

Kendalls Beach - around the point to the south of the main Surf Beach - would probably be the best if you are staying in town. If you don't mind a 10 minute drive, Kiama Downs (North Kiama) is also good.

I would suggest if you have a car, take a daytrip down to Seven Mile Beach, Gerroa & Gerringong. They are just down the road a bit, and Seven Mile Beach is incredible.

As for food, one very good dining choice (55 on Collins in Kiama) has gone. Hanoi on Manning (Vietnamese) is very good, on its day, though things can slow down when it's very busy! There are several reliable cafe/restaurants in Kiama, Jamberoo and Gerringong, but for fine dining experiences you may need to look further afield - The Hungry Duck in Berry, Caveau and Lorenzo's diner in Wollongong. Relish on Addison in Shellharbour village (15 mins north) is very good.

Don't know if you've been as yet, but for dining, Sea Breeze Dining, near Black Beach in the centre of town is Fantastic.

Make sure you do not only the big blowhole, but the little one as well (it's usually far better on its' day).

Gerringong is worth a side-trip (about 10kms away) as is Jamberoo and perhaps a cleansing ale at Jamberoo Pub!
