The day after Christmas - will Amish places be open?

Hello! We are spending the weekend in Hershey but will make a trip to Lancaster for a few hours to visit a few of our fave stops! Love the Farmers Market and the Bird-in-Hand bake shop on Gibbons Rd. Does anyone know if the Amish run places will be open the day after Christmas? Thanks in advance!!

Most Amish places should be open. The BIH farmers market and the Bake Shop are not Amish run so you may want to give them a call.

The day after Christmas is celebrated by the Amish as "Second Christmas" and is traditionally a day for visiting reletives and Friends (Christmas itself is mostly taken up by religious services). Therefore I would assume that the truly Amish run Places like the Gibbons Road bake shop will probably not be open.

My guess would be non-amish owned establishments like the Farmers Market, Kitchen Kettle etc will be open although you should call ahead.
