Just got back from a great Labor Day weekend. This was our first time (but not the last) to this gorgeous area.
We stayed at Country Seasons B&B. You can read my review there. Great time/hosts. This is in Mill Run about 5 miles past Ohiopyle. It is also about 3 miles from Fallingwater. On Saturday, we arrived as the Music in the Mountains festival was just starting. Music, food, crafts and a wonderful Teddy Roosevelt impersonator. We had no idea what to expect and were just wowed by the great activities, kayaking, rafting, swimming, biking, walking, etc all in this area. It is right on the bike trail.
First night we had dinner at Autumn Restaurant in Nemacolin. What a spectacular place even just to wander if you don't want to spend the $500 per night to stay there. Doesn't matter if you are a guest or just wandering as the staff was unfailingly polite and helpful.
Great dinner and much fun wandering thru checking out the artwork and tiffany windows.
Sunday was Fallingwater. Not going to say much about this as so much has already been written. Let's just make it clear that this is the definition of a "must see".
Later that day, the wives went back to Nemacolin to wander, my brother went swimming in the Yough and I took a 20 mile ride to Confluence.
Dinner was at River's Edge in confluence which was very good and very relaxing sitting on the veranda with the river just below.
We need to go back as we had too little time to see all that we wanted.
