Geneva on the Lake

Hi foks, does anyone have any good ideas on where to stay up there? Clean hotel/motel or cabins? close to their strip/boardwalk?

Any advice would be appreciated...

I know this is old and you've probably already been and gone from GotL, but we used to go up there quite regularly.

AVOID the Dukane Motel at all costs. I've never been in a more disgusting hovel in my life. They even had a ginormous hole in the wall between a workroom and the room we stayed in and made no attempts to repair it.

Most places up there are ok, if a little old. You may want to call the area chamber of commerce since quite a few cottages are privately owned and are rented out through the owners or a realtor.

Also, the state park is really nice if you like camping.

Thanks for the advice. We haven't gone there yet so I'll keep your post in mind when I make a reservation.

If you plan on going for Labor Day, be prepared to be swamped with bikers and bikes. It gets really, really packed but it's a load of fun!

If you'll have a bike or car for transportation, head over to Ashtabula and find the Bum Boat. It's one place we always made a point of stopping!
