We flew into Pittsburgh on Sat. morning to visit our daughter and her husband. They moved to Pittsburgh in June. It was our first time to Pittsburgh in about thirty years. We stayed at the Quality Inn in the University area. The hotel was clean and acceptable but the best thing was having the Panera cafe for breakfast. Sat. afternoon we toured some of the University area and saw the Pitt Learning center, Heinz chapel and Carnegie library. We also went to the Giant Eagle supermarket. We don't have the variety of cheeses and olives that you have in Pittsburgh. On Sunday we went to Lawrence county to the towns of Volant and New Wilmington to tour the Amish country. We were very respectful of the Amish but enjoyed just riding in the countryside. We ate lunch in Volant at a nice inn and looked around the shops and the old Volant mill. On Monday we took one of the Ducky tours of Pittsburgh then enjoyed shopping and eating in the Station Square area of south Pittsburgh. On Monday night we ate some really great pizza at a little place in Shadyside. On Tuesday afternoon it was back home to the Atlanta area.
