MLK Busway

My wife and I are staying at Inn on Negly this weekend and I noticed that there is an MLK Busway nearby. Is this a bus-only road for buses? Is it convenient to use and get downtown quickly? Or should I use my car to see the sights? Any info or advice would be great. Thanks!

Hey, Natty Boh! I worked for G. Heileman for 4 years!

The busway IS for buses only, and yes, the buses are the most convenient way to get downtown from where you are staying. Parking is not easy or fun in the city during the weekdays.

However, parking on the weekends is usually a lot easier to find and cheaper. Most of the open air lots are a flat rate for all day parking.

Parking in almost every lot in town is only $5 for the entire day on weekends. That rate goes into effect after 5pm on Friday and is good all day Saturday and Sunday. Busing is fine, too, but if you want to drive and park, it is pretty cheap on the weekends.
