Philly in Pittsburgh

Have a trip planned for the first weekend in June. Taking a bus trip to see the Phillies play Pirates Friday night. Have all day Sat. to see the sites. Would like some ideas. Any can't miss restaurants, attractions, clubs? Never been to Pittsburgh before.

Click on "Things to Do" on the left side of the page to get a good idea of what Pittsburgh has to offer, and search through the forums for topics of interest. Then if you have more specific questions people can help to answer them. We don't know you, so it's hard to guess what activities you would enjoy.

Well PNC Park is one of the best places in town. Great views.

One of the best things about Pgh is the people. I would suggest tailgating before the game, if you're into that. Even if you don't have a car, you can take a little cooler & folding stool, & make some friends.

The Rivers Casino isn't far from the park. We like hanging out there before events on the North Shore.

If you're here on the weekend, you might want to walk through the Strip District. There's lots to eat, souvenirs & things. It's bustling on the weekends. The Heinz History Center is between the Strip & downtown. You could go there to bone up on your Pgh history.

Must-see/do-s: the Rivers (I don't mean the casino), downtown from Mt. Washington, South Side on weekend nights, the Strip on weekend days, free concerts at the Point (look up the Arts Fest), drink East End beer, eat pierogies (@ a church, if possible)
