Steelers bar?

My husband (Steelers fan) and his brother (Ravens fan) are coming to Pittsburgh Saturday 11/17 for the "rivalry" game. They are staying at the Windham Grand which he booked through Priceline.

They want to find a friendly hang out bar for Saturday night just for a few beers with other fans. Every time he books through Priceline the hotel bars are a bit to uppity for their tastes and not much fun.

Can anyone recommend a place to just have a few, talk football with other fans and just have a good time?

Head to Market Square. Plenty of choices to have a great time.

Tons of stuff going on in Pittsburgh already on Saturday night...you might want to consider some things associated with Light Up! (see link below).

Other than that, maybe Oliver or Twist or Bossa Nova? Other fun places with larger crowds, Bar Louie over the river in Station Square or Hofbrauhous in SouthSide Works.

The 3 closest hotels to Heinz Field are the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-North Shore, the Residence Inn Pittsburgh North Shore, and SpringHill Suites North Shore. I would consider all of them to be "family" hotels.

All 3 are completely walkable. Take a look at Google maps (or similar) and do a satellite view of Heinz Field. You should see all 3 hotels on your screen.

Not to take this forum too off track, but any of the 3 hotels mentioned by bk will be great choices as a home base for a great family weekend. You can easily walk to the stadium, the children's museum and the science center.

As for bars (which obviously are not child-friendly) Bettis, McFaddens, Bar Louie and the Black and Gold Bar are all popular choices.

Prices are much higher in these hotels maybe as in heart of action.

We are staying at Hyatt airport Friday night and then moving to another hotel. If we can get football tickets these hotels will be looked into more. We will have to drive back to Toronto Sunday so if no tickets then stay in a fun area on route back to niagara falls with pool and breakfast.
