Anyone going to be at Mohegan Sun on Nov 9 or have good info

I am taking my first bus trip to Mohegan Sun and need some help from here. Normally I drive to casinos and can leave when I want. So how about some help.

Here is my problem. I love this casino but I I have never had a winning day there. I usually lose more than average. I believe it is because I always play quarters and always in smoking.

1. are quarters hard to to play at MS?

2. are there any pennies or nickels that will give you a lot of play? I prefer 9 line as I keep my bets under 50 cents a spin no mattter what denomination I play.

3. is anyone going that day and would like to meet for lunch?

I was there several weels ago, an I never hit anything, I payed pennies, quarters, nickles two cents, dollars and fifity cents, nothing was hitting, I am not much on any of the Indian casinos, they are very tight. I had much better luck at the Sands. Good Luck on your trip!

Brownsmule, thank you for your response. I don't know how this casino can have an average payout of 90% and no one does well.

Because i no longer have any overnight trips in the future, I am taking a monthly bus trip to several different PA casinos.

It looks like I might as well play my quarters as that is w3hat I enjoy.

Benny, I can't believe I found this post! Are you still going to Mohegan? If so, what time does the bus leave from there for you to go home? We were just there last weekend because Bobby Flay was there signing books. I noticed that there were some 1/4 penny slots. I don't know how many "coins" they took though. Maybe I could take a half day at work that day.

We are staying at MGM Foxwoods for 3 nights Thanksgiving week. I can't wait. I have enough points to get 2 of the nights free. We are planning on doing the morning and evening bingo sessions for 2 days/nights. I have never stayed there that long. We usually stay overnight for one night a few times a year.

M/S is the Worst casino in Pa.The Indians get away with LOW pay-outs.

Live 15 mins. from there and go once every 3 months.Love the Casino,Hate being ripped-off ALL the time.

Sands is GREAT,Hollywood and Mt. Airy,So-So.

Mostly play the Penny Gongs at M/S.

We do the Sands every week and we WIN 90% of the time.Comps are GREAT,Comps SU*K at M/S.

Have a Fun time and hope you can pull a win at M/S.

Kg,I am having computer problems and haven't posted anywhere. It was a little bus trip and I love the folks on the bus, but it was hard on my knees.

Have fun Thanksgiving.

Moneywho, I agree that MS is one of the hardest PA casinos to play in and I have been to Meadows, Presque Isle, Mt AIry, Hollywood, and Sands.

I have been to MS 4 times in the past and really love this casino. It is set up very similar to the original MS in CT. I love the way the shops and restuaurants are set up in the perimeter. I also want to say that the buffet quality at MS is outstanding for the money. THere was not one person on our bus that didn't like this buffet. I had eaten there before but the lunch this week was wonderful.

The Steamship Round of Beef =super

salads and dressings=fresh and good

desserts=abundant and good

overall very good selection to choose from. only the soups were mediocre.

Play was very difficult as usual. I only found 2 quarter slots that would play with me and I got off the Double Diamond Haywire and never got back on (the guy that took my place was still on when we left. This is one slot that i would play. (Location is second bank in from the Buffet, in smoking, 3rd slot in from the left, facing the outside perimeter.)

The other slot I noticed playing and finally got on before the bus left was....a 3X, 4X, 5X Double Diamond. Most of these are 5 line at MS, but there is one one the end that is 3 credit. You will see a round carousel of Wheel of Fortune in this smoking quarter section. This slot sits on the bar end of the row and was playing a little for everyone. I jumped on with $5 and ran up to $50 single betting. When it was down to 20 minutes til the bus, I boosted my bet to 2 credits, ran up to $115 then down to $85 and cashed out.

I observed a lot of quarter slots and was not impressed with any others in Smoking. Hope this helps someone.

I don't think I will do this long bus ride again. I would return because I love the casino, but wouldn't max bet here.

Moneywho, one last note. At the end of the year, going to Seneca Allegany at least once a week, I have come out ahead or averaging $10 a trip loss for the year. I can not say anything against the Indian Casinos except I no longer believe that the 97% payouts are 97%.
