Best beaches in RI for shell collecting

Has anyone found good shelling beaches they can recommend? Looking for a quick day trip and don't swim well, so wanted to be able to walk along the shore and collect seashells. Thank you in advance!

Smaller beaches with surrounded by rocky coves, are best. Usually those in the Jamestown/Newport area, maybe those in the state parks.

The big state beaches won't have many shells. Those that do wash up are quickly snapped up by the large crowds they draw. Considering you want a quick day trip and a nice walking beach, I would suggest Napatree Point. It's not a swimming beach but a conservation area. It's a beautiful place to walk. It's in Watch Hill in Westerly so parking could be expensive or hard to come by. The harbor side of the peninsula would probably have more shells than the beach side.
