Boat Rentals

Hi all,

We are looking at renting a house in the area (Point Judith Pond perhaps) and I am looking for a place that rents power boats. Something like a 22' Boston Whaler for fishing. Any thoughts?

It's very expensive to rent boats in RI. Lots of places will not rent to anyone who hasn't taken RI's Boating Safety course. Others will not rent until you've taken a hands on instruction course prior to rental. That is because our coast is so rocky, with strong tides and currents, and you really need to know what you are doing. You should expect to pay at least $200 per day plus fuel (which of course is very expensive right now). The only one I know of personally is Wickford Boat Rentals.

An alternative might be to take a fishing charter. Lots of those out of Galilee, which is a 5 minute ride from Point Judith. Also, you need a fishing license to fish in RI now.
