Restaurant with a view and things to do in Westerly

I'll be meeting two friends from college in Westerly the first weekend in November. Looking for recommendations on a scenic restaurant where we can sit and talk on Saturday afternoon. Also, looking for some things to do. I've found the Flying Horse Carousel (although it says only kids are allowed to ride), along with a winery in the area. Are there gardens, hiking trails or something else we should see?

Been to W a zillion x but not up on the restaurant scene. The city isn't really on the water. The carousel will surely be closed then. Watch Hill is interesting to drive through and walk out on Napatree Point and on the big beaches there. There are other big beaches and coastal wildlife refuges in the area nearby, and close by Stonington, CT even more charming Colonial village, may have a restaurant with a water view type scene.

Bridge is in downtown Westerly with a river waterview; good food and very nice vibe. At the beach, if Pleasantview Inn is open, that's right on the water. Of course, Ocean House has an ocean water view, but very, very expensive. Maria's Seaside is at the beach, but no waterview, but good food. You can walk across the street to the beach.

Winery is at Langworthy Farm on Shore Rd, but it is truly a winery; not a vineyard. There are also a couple of vineyards in Stonington -- Jonathan Edwards and Stonington Vineyards. There's a nice little trail for hiking on Shore Rd -- John Champlin Trail --- Run by the Westerly Land Trust -- they have a web site you can look at.

Thank you. We have been to Stonington before, so we were looking for a different venue. Thanks for your comments!
