Congratulations, Charleston!

Just read about Conde Nast Traveler Winners of 2008 Annual Readers' Choice Awards...surprising moves in this year's results:

Charleston, South Carolina bumped New York City out of the #2 spot for best U.S. city to visit. San Francisco remained #1 and New York City slid to #3.

In October we visited SF and Charleston is at the top of my wish list for spring 2009.

We will take down San Francisco next time. You will love Charleston and the nearby beaches. If you want a great marsh view, go to the Boathouse at Breach Inlet, make a reservation for 30 to 45 minutes before sunset, sit on the roof top and enjoy and awesome view to go with the outstanding food.

Thanks for the Charleston restaurant recommendation, but taking down SF will be tough. San Francisco took the Best U.S. cities category for a whopping 16th year in a row, a feat never before accomplished by any destination or property. One reason: its worldwide high restaurant score.
