whatyousee - I should have checked here first! Two weeks will be too short to hit all of those places, assuming that means leaving and returning to San Antonio all within those 2 weeks. (yikes!)

Honestly, if you haven't been, you could go to New Orleans for 2 days, Destin for 2 days, Orlando for 2 days, Kennedy Space Center and the FL beaches for 2 days and St. Augustine for 1 day, Savannah for 1 day, and Atlanta for 1-2 days. That would be about all you could do in two weeks, and that's pushing it!

Do Williamsburg and Washington DC (tons to do on the Mall and at the Smithsonian), baseball or the aquarium in Baltimore?

There's some great museums in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, maybe a tour involving naval "stuff"...

A few days at the Outer Banks??? Kitty Hawk???

These ideas are all a little more confined to a specific geographic area, a direction to head in, rather than just wandering.

Several good lodging options for the family, what is best depends on needs and on budget. Best Western King Charles Inn is downtown on Meeting St. and has rooms with 2 Double Beds and a few suites. French Quarter Inn has 2 suites with 2 queens and a separate living room with a sofa bed...very spacious suites.

Aquarium in Charleston is pretty good, but not very big compared to some others. Sandlapper Tours is a tour group that has several types of boat tours that are great for the kids including nature and eco tours...pull crab pots and check out all the local wildlife...dolphins, birds, etc.

Buccaneer restaurant downtown or Queen Annes Revenge on Daniel Island are cool restaurants. The food is good and they are decorated with salvaged pirate artifacts from various shipwrecks...very cool stuff.
