One night stay

We are renting a condo on Folly Beach for a week in mid-October beginning on Sunday. Because we are flying standby, we may arrive one night earlier. We would like to book a room Saturday night at an inexpensive ($70-$100) hotel. We will have a car. Where would you suggest I look for availability? I saw there is the airport area, Mount Pleasant, Historic District (too expensive and little available for Sat. night). We want clean and safe.

Thanks for any help.

October is peak season for the Historic District so it might be difficult to find something in that price range. Mt. Pleasant should have some good options in that price range. You can try the Shem Creek Inn, www.shemcreekinn.com, or the new Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Mt. Pleasant. West Ashley (Savannah Hwy.) might also be a decent fit. Over there check out the Best Western Sweetgrass Inn or the Holiday Inn Express Charleston.

It's a little bit out of your way, but you might look along University Blvd. There is a Hampton, HI Express, some sort of Marriott, they are all new and safe, several semi-fast food restaurants nearby (East Bay Deli is one, very good). Again, don't know for sure what pricing will be at that time.
