hotel reservation

I have been trying to find a hotel in Charleston for this weekend, wanted to leave today, but everything seems to be booked. Is this typical or is there something special going on this weekend? Need a safe location for mom and teenage daughter. Thanks!

You might try along the Ashley River, West Ashley or Mt P. Since you are coming from within the state, I assume that you will be driving so that should be ok.

Agree w/Blossom, look along Lockwood Blvd. (one of the locations on the Ashley River), as well...you will have to drive in from all the above locations.

Spring is extremely busy in Charleston. Almost any time of year anymore, you can not wait until the last minute and get a hotel. :-(

Both Kayak.com and Expedia show almost everything being full for this weekend. There are a couple downtown, at $300 or more per night.

Mt. Pleasant shows Courtyard Inn at $199 per night, Homewood Suites at $259/night and the Red Roof Inn at $79/night. The only others are a few things in N. Charleston & you have to be careful where you are when in N. Charleston.

Unfortunately, this happens ALL the time. Best book ahead, but I feel your pain. As the others have said: try outside of downtown. :(
