Charleston sc, Best Western Sweetgrass Inn

How do you feel about the Sweetgrass Inn now located in Charleston SC? Would it be an advantage to book this hotel being on a bus route for all the downtown historic attractions, beach area or plantations? I have looked at the trip advisor reviews and they are favorable.

Is there another hotel that you recommend with better accomodations for around average of $120. per night?

Sweetgrass is a ways from the Historic District and is in an area that is totally commercial, nothing pretty or interesting and you'd have to drive to restaurants and everywhere else.

It's easy to park in the HD, plenty of garages, which will save you the time wasted on the unreliable bus system.

Look to Mt. Pleasant for hotels that may be in your price range and are convenient to the HD. What time of year are you planning to visit?

You will also do best to drive to the beach or plantations.

Will you not have a car w/you???

The bus system is not like many places. It would not be my recommendation. It no longer goes out to the plantations and is not a very efficient way to get around town.

We are going 08-02 to 08-04. We will be driving our own car. Thanks for the tip about Mt. Pleasant. Any suggestions for hotels?
