Whers is the best place to stay in Charleston SC for Mardis Gras...we have been to New Orleans for carnival season...week before Mardis Gras and week of left sunday... every restaraunt closes down closer it gets to Mardi Gras...best palce to stay....parades...1st time visitors to Charleston...merci

Mardi Gras is not a Charleston tradition. The history of Roman Catholics in this city is very interesting, but that's not what you're asking.

Outside of some bar-specific events aimed at college aged students, you wouldn't even be able to tell Mardi Gras was going on in Charleston...
