Near Sleep Inn--Savannah Hwy

Are there any good restaurants or attractions near? How about purchasing Sweet Grass Baskets? How far away to search for reasonable prices? Thanks.

Sleep Inn on Savannah Highway is in a busy commercial strip surrounded by auto dealers and a few chain restaurants. The closest good restaurants are clustered in Avondale, along Magnolia Road and Savannah Highway. You might as well drive downtown. You'll need to drive downtown or to Mount Pleasant for sweetgrass baskets. They are expensive.

There are no bargain prices on sweetgrass baskets. They take quite a long time to make, thus the expense.

There is not much of anything in that area ~ everything you will want to see and do is in the historic district.

Drive downtown. If you don't want to do that, you can eat at Little Pearlz (not as good as Pearlz downtown, but they do have some decent food, especially oysters). Gene's Haufbrau in Avondale is a great dive bar...mainly locals, but a good beer selection.
