What's your favorite Sunday brunch?

We were going to stop for lunch somewhere along the way down on Sunday, but I think we'll be hitting Charleston right on time for brunch, and thought we could get another restaurant in...

Restaurants that sound interesting:

82 Queen

Seafood somewhere? I forget the one you guys say is a tourist trap

Rue de Jean

Hall's (I think this is just going to be too expensive for us with everything else on the agenda)

Things we already have on the agenda for our trip:

SNOB - Lunch

Magnolias - Dinner

Peninsula - Dinner

Hominy - Breakfast

FIG - Dinner

Thanks again for your help on yet another restaurant question.

I would do either High Cotton or 82 Queen for brunch. Hyman's is the place usually mentioned as a tourist trap. It is one of the ones that trys to nab you as you walk down the sidewalk - avoid any place that does this! The really good ones do not have to act that way.

I love the flounder at High Cotton when they have it. At 82 Queen I like the she crab and the outdoor patio.

You've made some great choices. Enjoy.

I would also recommend High Cotton. However, if you are willing to drive over to Mt. Pleasant, the Old Village Post House also offers a very nice brunch. Like High Cotton and SNOB, it is part of the Maverick group of restaurants.

Does High Cotton have a sister restaurant in Greeneville by the same name?

If so I have been to High Cotton for a business dinner before.

Yes, it does. My Greenville buddy tells me the Charleston one is better.

That's good to know. I had a bad experience at the one in Greenville.

Against the grain - I love Rue de Jean's brunch. It's a french restaurant so not traditionally Charleston. But they have awesome quiches and omelettes.

The Greenville High Cotton can be "hit or miss." I have some lovely dining experiences there and some which were not up to par- but so far- all at the Charleston location have been great.

My family loves the brunch menu at Rutledge Cab Company.
