Crabs are big&fat in early October. Ask at the PigglyWiggly and at the docks if anybody is selling live crabs. That's the best & easiest way to get enough for a meal.

If you have big square traps, you can set them out from the beach at lowtide and collect 12 hours later. If you have strings and a dip net, the best place is Store Creek, a few miles off the beach there by Post Office restaurant. The best is to hang traps from a dock, but that's only if you have access to a private dock.
