I've spent days trying to find a reasonable Folly Island vacation rental for 4 nights Mar 21-25, with no luck. We're a family of 5- so we're looking at 2 bedrooms. Many of the emails I send don't get responded to and the few that respond, the rate is about $300/night (inclusive of tax/cleaning/fees)- which seems very high.
This is our first visit to Charleston, so we'll be visiting the city & it's site and doing daytrips- not just hanging on the beach the whole time. I think we'll probably only have 1 day for beach lounging. Does it make sense to try to stay elsewhere?
We're also staying in downtown Savannah (historic district) for 4 nights- so I was hoping to contrast that with a beach place, but price is almost double on Folly! There seems to be a lot of open rooms, so I'm not understanding the high prices. Thanks in advance for your help!
