Fripp for a Family Reunion?

Someone recommended this - Do you agree?

We have about 25 people! Which would include about 6 well-behaved teenagers. Would there be things for all ages? or at least within a decent drive for when we'd like to do something extra for the teens?

Rec for Restaurants there?

Rec for a GREAT HOUSE to RENT? --- Seaside W/Pool are the requirements. Maybe 8 to 10 bedrooms? Wifi is a must!

or maybe you have a Rental Company to recommend????

thanks!! --- IF Fripp is NOT what you'd rec. we'd love to hear yours!

We had a family reunion this past August on Fripp. Had 15 people( 8 parents, 5 older teens and 2 young teens) in a 5 bedroom oceanfront house. Not sure if there are houses as big as what you need to get 25 people in, but the places that Steve gave you should allow you to scope out the availability. If you rent through anyone other than the resort management company, you need to find out about the amenity cards. ALL, and I mean ALL of the facilities on the resort have signs posted that you must have / show an amenity card to conduct business with them - even the ice cream shop at the Food Court. They don't always ask you to show it, but theoretically will refuse service if you don't have it If not included with your rental, you can purchase but they are $50 each.

As to your other questions about activity, Fripp is a very upscale, isolated resort that tries to be self-contained. I would just make sure you are aware of the following:

- You are about 20 miles from Beaufort and grocery stores, drugstores. While there is a c-store grocer on the resort, prices are extremely high.

- At the southern end of the resort, there is no beach 2 - 3 hours before and after high tide (depends on wind direction and moon phase). Up at the Beach Club, there is beach at all times

- Plenty to do there if you like golf, tennis, fishing, or just relaxing at the beach. There are activities for teens (as well as younger children) during the summer season

- Lots of things to do in the Beaufort / Port Royal area but again you are looking at a 35 - 45 minute drive each way.

Our one group dining experience was not a good experience due to extremely poor service (food was good but not great). All our other dinner meals were eaten at the house with each family taking various nights. Again, lots of dining choices on Lady's Island and Beaufort, but again a drive.

Thanks for your informational reply. Sounds like a fun place!

Our one question has become: Do any of the houses there have a private pool?

:) I relax just hearing your review!
