Kiawah vs Folly - New Years Lodging

We are planning a trip to the Charleston area the weekend before New Years through mid week. We want to relax and be able to spend some time in Charleston. We will not be golfing. Is one location generally more expensive than the other? What are some agencies for Kiawah rentals?

Kiawah will definitely be more $$$ than Folly, even though you are not golfing, it's a beautiful place for R&R and about a 40 min. drive to Charleston. We have 10 miles of bikeable beach, over 25 miles of bike trails, a wonderful river for kayaking and several great restaurants on the island, plus a number of others within a 15 minute drive.

I'm thinking it might be hard to get a rental this late. There are 2 hotels Sanctuary on Kiawah and Tides at Folly. Folly is closer to Charleston proper. Holiday time is popular here, so you may want to book soon.

Wyndham Vacation Rentals has quite a few listings on Kiawah Island and neighboring Seabrook Island, as well as on Isle of Palms, which is closer to Charleston. wyndhamvacationrentals.com/resortquest/index…
