Myrtle Beach in early October

Hello,

I haven't been to Myrtle Beach yet, so I was just wondering how the weather is down there in early October. Also, can anyone give me a recommendation for a nice place to stay at? I'm not the traveler that likes fancy and luxurious. Thanks for the imput.

The weather is generally good for walking on the beach through Thanksgiving at least. I have seen ocean swimmers every month of the year. Hardier souls than I. Looking for hotel, motel, condo?

My Wife and I vacation in Myrtle Beach, each year, in early October. Usually, the weather has been great except two years, ago, it rained most of the week. I guess that's the gamble that you take. It can, still, get into the 70's to 80's and is great for walking the beach, etc. Some are still swimming when we are there. We stay at the ROXANNE TOWERS in the middle part of Myrtle Beach and like it very much as it is handy to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Also, it is much cheaper than North M.B. and many other areas. We rent a beachfront condo, there and it is very nice.. Here is their website: http://www.theroxanne.com/

Hope you have a nice trip.

I love October at the beach. Crowds have thinned, the skys are this awesome Carolina Blue...and still warm enough to swim in the water (water temp in the mid 70's) Nights are a bit cooler, so bring a light jacket. I'd take a look at Monteray Bay Suites, Ocean Reef, Long Bay, Dunes Village just to name a few.

Just fyi Fall Bike week is October 3-7th this year. Its nothing like the Spring Rally but it may or may not be a consideration where you stay. If that is the time you are coming, you may want to stay little further north or south of MB as many bikers will stay on Ocean Blvd in MB.
