After a year in the vacation rental industry I have a few bits of info I think might help to make your trip easier and more enjoyable. I will say I am surprised I even have to bring this up, but I have discovered there is a certain percentage of the population that travel with little to NO information on where they are staying, checking in, late arrivals, etc. Amazing as it is to me people walk in our office and the ONLY thing they know is they are staying at our resort, they have no clue what agency they rented from, they have no clue where to find that agency AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO IF THEY ARE LATE ARRIVING. First, just because there is an ON-SITE office where you are staying that does not mean they are the rental agency for your unit and if we are NOT the rental agency for your unit, then there is not alot we can do to help you get in that unit. We have keys to OUR properties, not all properties. Make sure you have a confirmation that you have paid in full, bring it with you, make sure you have the directions for late arrival. There will most likely be a lock box with your keys in it-KNOW THE CODE! I can't help you if you rented thru Condolux or Condoworld and they are closed. I don't know the code. SORRY! Make sure when you MAPQUEST you put North Myrtle Beach as the city if that is where you are staying. Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach have the same streets and its very confusing. We get several phone calls during check in day-we are in Myrtle Beach and can't find you! Wrong city! We try to be as helpful as we can.
IF you rent thru VRBO make sure you have contact phone numbers in case the room is not ready, they keys are not where they said they were, you can not operate the lock box, OR the people who were suppose to check out so you can check in, ARE STILL THERE WHEN YOU ARRIVE! Again, we can't help you with that.
Sorry to be long but if I can help 1 person have a more pleasant trip and avoid some of the things I posted that we see on a daily basis, then all is good!
