Pay attention to lifeguard flags

Flags attached to the lifeguard stands are there for a reason-pay attention to them, ask the guards what the different colors mean. Yesterday afternoon an 11 yr was pulled out in the water and is in critical condition in Charleston. Today as we speak a 13 yr old boy missing in Garden City. A seperate issueA yesterday a woman got bit on foot by shark in Holden Beach, NC. The ocean is fun place but you have to use caution especially with young children. Rip currents are not anything to take lightly-if the lifeguards post that there is the potential for rip currents, assume they mean it and are not just fooling around.

Geez just read on wpde.com a possible drowing in Pawleys Island at 3pm today. Man washed ashore 30 mins later after being caught in rip current, trying to save son. No word on his condition! Telling you it is rough out there today and I can see so many young children playing in the water.

We have had drownings recently down here too. That's good advice-you can't always tell by looking at the ocean if currents are bad.
