Winter in Myrtle Beach-what will be open?

We are going to be in a condo for 3 months this winter. We are

wondering what will be open? We are staying at the Kingston Plantation (north hampton). As we are not golfers, there must be other things to do. The weather will definitely be better than back home in Toronto,Ontario. any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would defintely say visit Charleston and maybe Savannah, GA too. Southport, NC is also a great little town to visit. It's between N. Myrtle & Wilmington, NC .

We will be there for January again, getting excited.....we don't golf either.

The beach will be open! We love walking & collecting shells. You will find about 2/3 of the restaurants open and most of the larger stores, but attractions are more "hit & miss." Not many outdoor venues (like mini golf & amusements) will be open but indoor/semi-outdoor places are mostly open. If closed, you will likely see them open before you leave.

For day trips we have done Conway, Wilmington, the NC beach resorts, Florence, & as mentioned, Charleston & even Savannah can be done in day trips but maybe more enjoyable to stay overnight. Brookgreen Gardens is a must...your pass is good for a week & we usually return at least once or twice. Another must for us is the marshwalk in Murrells, most of the restaurants will be open.

Your resort will probably have some programs & trips for snowbirds. Have a great stay & let's keep our fingers crossed for a mild SC winter.

We also liked Southport NC. Make sure and take the ferry.

I also suggest taking a day and going to Huntington State Park. Lots to do there besides a great beach.
