Murrells Inlet Marsh walkin March

Our family will be down in Myrtle Beach for March Break and thought it might be fun to drive down to Murrells Inlet for the day. Is there much to see in March? Will it be too cold to really enjoy the walk? Are shops open or would this be considered an off season?

It will be cool on the Marsh Walk in March, but doable. Some tourist shops do not open until around Easter. A good many restaurants do close some in Jan & Feb.

March is always iffy around here. You may hit some beautiful weather, or run into a cold wind. A jacket is always a good idea for the MarshWalk in March. All of the restaurants directly on the MarshWalk are open, with the exception of Spud's, which should be open by March. Several of them will have live music on weekend evenings. Lazy Gator is a very nice gift shop directly across the street from the MarshWalk.

Both Huntington Beach State Park and Brookgreen Gardens are only a few miles South of Murrells Inlet. By March, alligators will be visible on sunny days along the causeway in the park. Both places are worth a visit if the weather is nice.
