Memorial Weekend in MB

We are considering coming to MB for a mini vacation during Memorial Weekend. Is it really crowded this time of year?

When I called to make reservations for the week of memorial day I asked the reservation desk where we are staying and he told me that last year it was not crowded and he really didnt expect it this year either. I would guess that until things look better economically, it wont be. We've never stayed in MB before so Im actually hoping its not really crowded. We normally stay at Ocean Isle just past the NC border.

Keep in mind that Atlantic Beach BikeFest is held Memorial Day weekend. It's been toned down the last year or so, but it's still a major happening in the Atlantic Beach/NMB area. If you're planning to stay toward the South Strand, it's usually quieter. If you're driving, it can definitely have an impact on traffic heading to and from MB.

Go to you tube and key in Atlantic Beach Bike Week or Black Bike Week Myrtle Beach. This festival will be in the area. Some shady things and extra traffic will be in the area. If you still plan on going ask your hotel or resort do they allow bikes or trailers, security etc.....

Bikers are boycotting Myrtle Beach so if you come stay in Myrtle Beach you will be fine. The Bikers will be down in NMB and Atlantic Beach. Traffic will be a bit of pain getting in and out depending on what day your coming in and leaving. Leaving memorial day is the worst traffic ever. So plan to either stay until Tuesday or get a very early morning start on monday morning.

wouldn't recommend it. the whole Grand Stand Area (Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Atlantic beach) will be full of bikers. Not all biker are boycotting Myrtle Beach, and source are saying that this year the number will be huge. blackbikeweeks.com/2010/… .
