Ocean Lakes Campground

Hello All,

We're thinking of booking a stay during the March Break at the Ocean Lakes Campground. I was hoping someone could shed some light on the area outside of the park. Would it be worth it to rent a car (since we don't want to tow our vehicle), or are there attractions within walking distance? Any other info. you can add re: Ocean Lakes would be appreciated!

Thanks!

There is very little within walking distance of Ocean Lakes, and the adjoining road - Hwy 17 business - is not pedestrian-friendly along that stretch. Unless you plan to spend your visit within the campgrounds, I highly recommend renting or bringing a car. That's also pretty well true for anywhere you stay around Myrtle Beach. The attractions and restaurants are spread out over a wide area, and any visit to MB really benefits from having a car.

Yep...that is a busy intersection. You will need a car as there is much to see and do in Myrtle. But Ocean Lakes has alot to offer for family fun so you don't have to be on the go for the entire vacation. Have fun. Kaye

ASa far as the campground itself you will probably be pretty occupied within the park. If you want to go and do anything then you will need a car.
