We loved our miniature poodle like a family member, but became resigned to the fact that most travelers to upper end properties do not want to stay in a unit previously occupied by a pet. Even owners at our resort cannot bring their pets. There is a nice boarding kennel at Murrells Inlet, A Dog's Way Inn, that we used several times. Since our pet was such a "people dog", they let her stay in the office a lot of the time when not outside on a walk. We could go there and pick her up for a day on the beach and take her back whenever. We found that much preferable to leaving her at home for an extended time.
