Mary Lee, the Great White Shark, Visiting MB & Chasn

Remember Mary Lee, the 16' 3500 lb tagged great white shark that spent some time last fall off the coast of SC? She decided to come back for a visit. After pinging very close to the Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island shoreline over the weekend, she headed South and pinged this morning off the coast of Charleston.

To track her path, go to http://www.ocearch.org/tracker/ . In the "Global Shark Tracker" window, select "Mary Lee" under "Sharks", select "Past Month" under "Tracking Activity", then scroll down a little further and click the blue "Track Shark" button. It's amazing how quickly she moves along.

That is cool. It is interesting if you track 2 years how she seems to follow a pattern and stay near the coast. I wonder what her Bermuda trip was all about?? LOL

During a recent interview, the Ocearch founder speculated that Mary Lee may be pregnant. Wonder if Bermuda sunsets and one too many Mai Tai's were involved?? ;-) www.carolinalive.com/news/story.aspx…

I have been tracking her also. It is kind of scary that she is so close to where we spend many hours in the ocean each year though.
