First Time in Myrtle Beach

Hi, I will be in MB the first weekend in May with a group of 11 adults. We are staying at the Aqua Beach Inn and was wondering what are the must see attractions and good restaurants. We don't have a particular budget just looking for fun activities and good food.

You will be able to walk to many restaurant and bars so you will enjoy the location. Bummz on the beach is a good place for casual food and cocktails. They have a nice outdoor deck. City Café, Dirty Dons and Soho are on 21 st Ave a few blocks north of you.. Banditto's is a newer Mexican place that has a great outdoor patio overlooking the ocean and that is right near you. Pier 14 is right across from you. If you want better dining than check out The Sea Captains House north of you on 30th and NY Prime which is the best steak house in MB and that's on 28th. You are very close to the boardwalk, ripleys, skywheel and you are less then 2 miles from Broadway at the Beach which as a multitude of bars, clubs and restaurants. Tony mix is right about the Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet

For local seafood, head to Murrells Inlet. They are all good, but my favorites are http://leesinletkitchen.com/ , http://www.drunkenjacks.com/ , and http://www.russellsseafoodgrill.com/

There are many great shows in the area. You may want to research the various shows and determine if the group would be interested in any... my favorite is Good Vibrations : thecarolinaopry.com/myrtle-beach-shows/…

What other interests do you and others in your group have?

Putt Putt is popular, there are courses all up and down US-17.

There are some nice shopping areas like Broadway at the Beach mentioned above. Other nice shopping areas include: Barefoot Landing, The Pawleys Island Hammock Shops, and the Marketplace Commons.

If you would like a break from the MB crowd, head south to:

- Huntington Beach State Park where there is a beautiful undeveloped beach, great wildlife viewing, and an old castle that may be toured (Atalaya).

- Historic Georgetown is a nice relaxing break with some beautiful houses and buildings.

- Charleston is an easy drive south on US-17. Lots of activities in that area.
