Bars/clubs golf and food

Me and two friends are coming over from the UK in May for a few days - Sunday to Thursday.

We are planning on a few games of golf and hitting some bars before heading to NC.

We want to rent a condo that is nearish to the beach and ideally in walking distance (are there taxis in MB? That is probably a stupid question) to decent bars with a youngish crowd, We have all just turned 30.

We'll have a car so can drive to golf courses - but would prefer not to travel too far.

Any advice welcomed.

Cheers

Check out The Breakers, Camelot, Best Western Carolinian, Holiday Inn Pavilion, Dayton house. All of these will put you with walking distance to attractions, bars and many restaurants.

Also look up in North Myrtle Beach. Main St. area is very nice with bars, shops, etc. Also you will be close to Barefoot Landing (very similar to Broadway at the Beach...a huge entertainment/restaurant/attraction complex) Look at Avista Resort, The Ashworth, The Ocean Bay Club, Wyndham Ocean Blvd.

Golf courses within a few miles of the downtown district ( Breakers Hotel,Caribbean, etc) are Myrtlewood (2 courses), Pine Lakes and Grande Dunes. Twenty minutes to a half hour away are about 15 more courses.

You might want to check out McAdoo's Beach Bar at 2nd Ave S on the beach next to Family Kingdom Water Park.

Treat yourselves to some great golf drive to Heritage, Caledonia, Litchfield Plantation, or Pawley's Island. These are four of the best course in the area and they are not too far away. One more for a special experience try The Witch.

Noticed that you are coming from the UK. With the fact that your coming from so far I might assume that you would want to play some of the better courses. You also stated that you would prefer not to travel too far.If you stay within the Primetimes Group you could play Pine Lakes,Kings North,Grande Dunes and Wild Wing. From downtown area you can reach Pine Lakes in 10 minutes, Grande Dunes in 15 min. ,Kings North and Wild Wing in about 20 min.

Another option is the Legends group which offers golf, breakfast and lunch with 2 beers. All course are very good with 3 going off from the same club house. The other 2, Heritage and Oyster Bay are over 30 minutes from the down town area.
