Unfamilar with the area....help!

We have a small group of couples (childless) coming in for a long weekend in September. We are trying to find a nice area that is right in the mix of it all - ocean front and within walking distance to restaurants/night life. I am assuming that would be MB central? Recommendations on condos/beach houses in that area?

Any help is appreciated!

Check out The Anderson Club. Its more geared to adults and you can walk to dozens of Restaurants, bars and attractions. The only negative is that the pools are somewhat small. Also look at The Breakers and my favorite The Caribbean.

Hi Robin, (I have relatives in Macon!) No beach houses in the area you want, but plenty of condos (in hotels) You might want to look at Anderson Ocean Club, very nice, good for childless couples. Also look at Roxanne Towers, Camelot by the Sea, Meridian Plaza, Dayton House or Breakers.

The "strip" area and what many consider "the middle of action" (Skywheel, Slingshot, boardwalk area, bars) is around the 1100 No. Ocean Blvd. block. You can look at the address of the hotels and see how far of a walk they are. (short blocks)

Good luck...have fun!

I'd also like to suggest staying near the Main Street area of North Myrtle Beach. Way more laid back and "beachy" than "the strip" of MB. You'd be right there in walking distance to Fat Harold's and Duck's shag clubs, various other bars and clubs, OD Pavilion, Duffy Street Seafood Shack, Hoskin's and other restaurants, little boutiques, etc. I usually stay at Ocean Drive Resort when I stay in that area. There is a tiki bar and nightclub on site.
