2-3 day side trip from Myrtle: Charleston vs Wilmington?

Which is best to spend 2-3 days exploring the city and around town? Thoughts? parents with 2 young adult children (19-22)

Charleston without a doubt.

Between the history, the food and the atmosphere, I'd say Charleston without hesitation.

Probably Charleston. I like the riverfront district, the battleship, and Airlie Gardens in Wilmington but you can just about see everything there is to see there in one day. Between Charleston and Georgetown (which is along the way) you will have an easier time filling that time.

Charleston...khu455 is correct. Wilmington is more of a day trip. We spend 2 full days in Charleston and felt like we didn't come close to seeing all we wanted to see. We will be going back as part of a road trip this summer.
