Bachelorette Party... good or bad idea in PI?

I am helping to plan a Bachelorette party in august and I am wondering what is the bar/nightlife scene in PI? We don't want the whole Myrtle Beach experience but we also don't want to be the only people in a bar! Any advise is helpful! Thanks

There are some nice bars in PI and you won't be lonely, but iit often tends toward an older, low-key crowd. A few worth checking out are Quigley's, Pawleys Island Tavern (The PIT) and Island Bar & Grille.

As an alternative, I'd recommend making the rounds in Murrells Inlet, about 15 minutes north of PI. There are quite a few fun bars along the MarshWalk, most with live music that usually gets cranked up around 8pm, and all within walking distance of each other. http://www.murrellsinletmarshwalk.com/

After 10pm, the action usually moves to the Gazebo at the Hot Fish Club. http://www.hotfishclub.com/

As usual, PawleysDude gave you some great advice. I would tend toward the Murrels Inlet Marsh Walk for a bachelorette party. You can bar hop from there, but first have dinner at High Hammock on the porch. It's lovely there.

...and there are taxis in the area. My daughter and her friends use them when they go out! Just make arrangements in advance, and perhaps PD can offer some suggestions. Here's a link I found:

Have a great time!

Excellent point, taxis are always an important part of the party. The local gendarmes pay close attention to drivers around Murrells Inlet, for all the right reasons.

Creekside Cab is located in Murrells Inlet and do a very nice job. They know the trip well from PI to MI <:-) http://creeksidecab.com/

Great news! Pawleys and Litchfield are our "home away from home," and it's good to hear when someone has enjoyed it as much as we have.
