Hi funinsunbound - What a great place to go for some wintertime activities.

There are several websites that have private cabin rentals in the Terry Peak area. Check these out.

As for snowmobiling, I believe you can snowmobile in Spearfish Canyon and even rent snowmobiles at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge. If you go to the South Dakota tourism website, http://www.blackhillsbadlands.com/, they have a winter guide, Romancing the Snow, which includes snowmobile maps and other info,

A good place to eat is at the Cheyenne Crossings located at the juntion of US Hwys. 14A and 385, just as you enter Spearfish Canyon. Their website is http://www.cheyennecrossing.org/cafe.html. I am not sure if they are open during the winter, though. The cafe is very casual but the food is excellent. Home cooking. They serve the absolute BEST Indian Tacos. For finer dining try the Roundhouse in Lead. Jakes in Deadwood is Kevin Costner's 5 star restraunt and is excellent. His sports bar at the Midnight Star is another decent place to eat and much more reasonably priced than Jakes.

In lead, I would recommend the Stampmill. They have a nice ambience and the food is great. The roundhouse is a beautiful building, and a nice restaurant, but be prepared. Prayers before dinner are required. In Lead, definately try the Deadwood Thymes and the Deadwood Social Club. Both places have excellent food. I had dinner at the Social Club last week and I highly recommend it.
