Can someone tell me if rock city and ruby falls are fairly close to each other and are they easy to find leaving the interstate 24?

Yes, they are both on the northern end of Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls on the northern slope and Rock City just over the state line perched on the eastern edge. They are separated by a short, ten minute scenic drive through national park land. Another nominal drive will take you to the Natural Rock Bridge, Sunset Rock, and Point Park.

Lookout Mountain as a whole is very easy to find from interstate 24; the road cut through the base of its northern flank. Here's the scenic route: http://tinyurl.com/cdohln
