Prentice Cooper State Forest

Is the drive through the park on Tower Drive worth the time and how long does it take? We'll be in a mini-van, so the side roads are probably off limits, but we're thinking about taking the main road through next weekend while we're in town visiting family.

I've been thinking about this and researching - I enter the forest from the Signal Mountain trailhead hiking an have never driven through- always thought of it as more of an off-road, atv, mountain biking, hiking kind of place- not like the Shenandoah where you drive through on your way to somewhere. That said if you turn off on suck creek road at the bottom of signal mountain and go up suck creek mountain to the forest entrance it should take about 15 to 20 mins from signal mountain road and it appears you can go a ways back on tower road which is gravel. You can park and get out on the trails an there is a trail map posted. You should also be able to get a trail map at twra@tn.gov and trails.com
