Thanks for the enjoyable trip report, Lolly.

It was really informative and might even entice me to change from Inis Oirr to Inis Mor for my next trip to the islands:-)

It is over 30 years since I was on Inis Mor and I even flew that time. I really love that short flight and as you say, it is so cool to be able to chat with the pilot while he is flying the plane.

I'm ashamed to say I've never been to the Aran Islands, despite working with an islander for a time and the offer of a free bed!

I want to go NOW!

Thanks for the great read Lolly

Lolly,

What a lovely trip report! You had me at the following:

"The flight was exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure!"

Everything you articulately wrote and described while visiting Inis Mor was great. It was a good read for sure.

Well done, and I enjoyed the photos added as well.

Excellent report. Nice to see some time to actually enjoying over a few days instead of rushing of rushing in on one ferry and out 2 hours later just to tick boxes.

Thanks for all the positive comments! My head is getting huge!!!

The thing about enjoying the islands is that the weather can make such a difference. I've been so luck over the years.

We brought 30 6th class kids up to Dún Aonghusa and left those who wanted to , look over the edge! If we did that now Health and Safety crews would faint clean away! They were from a non coastal county and 29 were seasick. I did for no. 30 by accident in telling him that at least the orange he was eating would taste the same going down as coming back up!

Great times, so much limited now by policies/health and safety etc.
