Jersey to Sark

How easy is it to get to Sark from Jersey and is it realistic to go for the day?

Also Guernsey, any point in a day trip?

A French company called Manche-Iles runs services in season between Jersey and Sark. Day trips are possible (see http://www.sark.info/downloads/mancheiles_2009.pdf)

I think Sark is definitely worth a day trip, but personally I wouldn't bother to do one to Guernsey - there's more than enough to do on Jersey.

I disagree about the trip to Guernsey. If you're here in Jersey for more than a few days (thus have ample time to explore) then I would say head over there if you want to!

For 2 islands so close together it always amazes me how different St Peter Port and St Helier are. Although biased towards Jersey, I must admit that Guernsey has the prettier capital!

Their server is a bit slow but this page shows the fares:

http://www.manche-iles-express.com/tarifs.php?type=ukeur&dest=SERCQ

Direct day return low season seems to be £39 for an adult and £25 for a child.

Timetable here:

You have to enter a suitable date in the box.

7. Re: Jersey to Sark

Hi all,

My issue is that I can't seem to find a way to cross to Guernsey or Sark for that matter on 6 or 7 Sept for a day trip.

Condor show me no availability for going on 6th and nothing on 7th (to Guernsey)

Manche-Iles seem to NOT have anything and then allow me to book for a crossing on 7th to Sark but starting and ending in Granville

GRANVILLE - ST HELIER : 07/09/2010 @ 9:00

ST HELIER - SARK : 07/09/2010 @ 9:40

SARK - ST HELIER : 07/09/2010 @ 16:45

ST HELIER - GRANVILLE : 07/09/2010 @ 18:15

which isn't a problem as long as I can embark/disembark on St. Helier. What's going on? Anyone knows this is possible? However, the ticket is 50Euros. Bit steep no?

Also, http://www.hdferries.co.uk/ "service is not currently available." When I try to make a booking on the channelislandsferry.com, it crashes.

Yay.

Can't help with why Manch illes and condor are busy, but HD Ferries effectively went bust a couple of years ago, so don't be putting your credit card in there!

Condor usually has stand-by seats as well. You have to sit in the office for a bit and then, if you're only foot passengers, there may very well be room for you...

If you want a day trip to Guernsey consider flying. Its between £50 and £60 return. Tickets are fully flexible (but not cancellable). The flight is 20 minutes and there are lots of flights every day.

The two airlines are Blue Islands and Aurigny. Google them and you should find them
